When to use JPG vs PNG

JPG: Photos, scanned documents, anything with continuous tone. Smaller file size at the cost of slight compression artefacts.

PNG: Documents with sharp text, logos, line art, or screenshots. Lossless, pixel-perfect quality at larger file sizes.

Quality scale: 1x matches the PDF's native resolution. 2x doubles it (recommended for most uses). 3x is for printing or archival, file sizes scale accordingly.

Why use SnapaPdf?

Higher quality. Most online PDF-to-JPG tools cap at 1x or 1.5x to save bandwidth. We render up to 3x because it costs us nothing, your CPU does the work.

No limits. Convert 200-page documents without hitting a free-tier wall.

Privacy. Your documents render in your browser, never uploaded.

Speed. No upload step means a 100MB PDF processes in seconds, not minutes.

FAQ

Will all pages download as separate files?

Yes, each page becomes one image file. Browsers may prompt to allow multiple downloads on the first run.

Can I get all pages as a ZIP?

Currently each page downloads individually. Most operating systems let you select multiple files and ZIP them in 1 right-click.

Why is 3x slow on my big PDF?

Higher quality means more pixels to render. A 100-page PDF at 3x can take 30+ seconds on older devices. 2x is the sweet spot for most uses.

What's the max page size?

No fixed limit, but PNG output for very large pages (A0 posters at 3x) can produce 50MB+ images. Use JPG for those.
